Stanley G. Falk School elementary students and staff members celebrated Veterans Day with a community parade to honor local veterans and one very special neighbor on Monday, November 10.
Ron Crane is a Korean War veteran who has become a beloved part of the school community. Every morning and afternoon, Ron greets staff members from his window – always smiling and waving as they arrive and leave the parking lot. His kindness has become a daily highlight for many, therefore the school wanted to do something meaningful for him.
During the parade, students visited Ron and presented him with handmade cards and crafts to thank him for his service and friendship. He reciprocated with lots of hugs and reiterated how seeing the students made his day.
This heartfelt moment gave students an opportunity to commemorate Veterans Day while recognizing a community member who has brought so much joy to their school. It was a touching display of gratitude, connection and the spirit of service that Veterans Day represents.
