Joris

Stanley G.  Falk School Athletics was established in 2005 sparked by one man’s idea. An idea that would later evolve into a new arena of allowing students with disabilities to compete against their non-disabled peers. Today, the Falk School has three varsity level sports, basketball, soccer and track and field.  Our basketball and track teams compete in the Independent Athletic Conference and our soccer team competes in the Niagara Frontier Christian Athletic Association. In recognition of the many outstanding student-athletes that have entered and graduated from our school, the Stanley G. Falk School is proud to announce the unveiling of the Athletic Wall of Fame at both our Cambridge and Rossler locations. The Athletic Wall of Fame would not be possible for the unwavering passion for our program, students, athletics and statistics, of Mr.  Jim Joris.

Mr. Joris has worn many hats over the past 33 years since he began as a teacher at the Falk School in October, 1986. Mr. Joris is a Health teacher and since 2005, our Athletic Coordinator. He is known for his quirky sense of humor and his ability to establish positive relationships with his students, who often come back to visit him years after they have graduated.  Mr. Joris’s legacy has included his vital role in creating our Sports Program and exposing our students to these traditional experiences to enhance their education. We acknowledge Mr. Joris’s many contributions to our Sports program and are proud to induct Mr. Joris to our Athletic Wall of Fame for the following:

  • Inaugural Athletic Coordinator
  • Creation of three varsity level sports- basketball, soccer and track
  • Entrance into the Independent Athletic Conference ( IAC)
  • Physical Education Teacher/Health for 33 years of service at the Stanley G. Falk School.

It is for these many reason, we are proud to induct Mr. Joris to our Athletic Wall of Fame for the 2018- 2019 school year.

Mr.  Joris is a valued employee who has demonstrated continued dedication to the Stanley G. Falk School. Mr. Joris, thank you for your 33 years of service. Your imprint on our students and the fabric of the Stanley G. Falk School is unparalleled.  We wish you the best on your retirement.
